The Green Movement Needs To Move Faster Than “Green Day”
Last week I was using a Webmaster’s tool to find out what terms people use when they search for green related projects. I searched using a couple longer terms like “green home improvements”, “green projects”, “green living and a few other terms. I was shocked when they all produced very low search results! I assumed that I must be using the wrong terms so I searched for just the term “green”……………BINGO I got results……….people are searching or the term “Green”!
“Green” produces the following results…….”Green day” (a band and actually a pretty good band), “Green Bay Packers”, “Green Tea” <—why would someone search for green tea, go to the store and buy it! A little ways down the list there are a few “green lottery” searches along with a bunch of “Green day” related search terms. It was a shock that with all of the green products that are entering the market place, people would not be searching for them on the internet. I noticed over the past few weeks some of the cleaning companies are really promoting some of their “Green Cleaning Products” with some even offering free samples. Since I am not a fan of trial size free samples, I am entertaining the idea of asking them to send me some jumbo (Costco/BJ’s) size samples. With two messy kids leaving smudges all over our home we really need the super sized samples! Note to any people selling green cleaning supplies; please send me some and I will write a nice review if they actually work. Note to the band Green Day; please send some extra copies of your cd’s since my kids are bound to break or scratch them like everything else they get their hands on.
As some people have figured out my random insertion of pictures are mostly used as a way for me to publish some of the pictures that I’ve taken over the past several years. The model in this picture is actually used to protect a herd of sheep in Northern Vermont from predators. Take note of how his eyes are two different colors.
